GLIN==> Great Lakes Restoration Plan, other measures urged



The development of a Great Lakes Restoration Plan heads a list of seven
  resolutions recently adopted at the Great Lakes Commission's 2001
Annual
  Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The resolutions, adopted by unanimous

  action of the eight Great Lakes states, are:

  1. Toward a Great Lakes Restoration Plan.
  2. Advancing Commission/Congressional Linkages Through Regional Tours
and
  Events.
  3. Update of Great Lakes Commission's Modal Shift Study.
  4. Steel Trade and the Great Lakes Region.
  5. Advancing Brownfields Redevelopment and Greenfields Protection.
  6. Reauthorization of the National Invasive Species Act (NISA) of
1996.
  7. Implementation of the Information/Education Strategy for Aquatic
  Nuisance Species Prevention and Control.

  The Great Lakes Commission will next convene at its 2002 Semiannual
  Meeting,  May 6-8 in Quebec City, Quebec at the Le Chateau Frontenac
  hotel.
