GLIN==> Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Workshop: Zion, Illinois

Dear colleagues:

The Ocean Conservancy (formerly Center for Marine Conservation), in
partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is hosting a
workshop for leaders of volunteer water quality monitoring programs, March
19-20, 2002 in Zion, Illinois.

Topics to be addressed include:

--acceptance and use of volunteer data by government agencies;
--data collection, analysis, and presentation;
--working with volunteers;
--volunteer program management; and
--special topics in volunteer monitoring.

PRIORITY REGISTRATION WILL BE GIVEN TO LEADERS OF VOLUNTEER WATER QUALITY
MONITORING PROGRAMS LOCATED AT AND OPERATING NEAR THE WORKSHOP SITE.  Other
registrations will be accepted on a space available basis.

NO REGISTRATION FEE!
 
To facilitate the participation of local monitoring groups, lodging will be
provided based on need, distance traveled to the workshop, and funding
availability.  Participants receiving lodging will be asked to share a room
with one other participant.  Limited reimbursement (no greater than $50 per
person) may also be available for travel costs.
