Manatees and Silent Auction

Join the Friends of Stone Laboratory and the Ohio Sea Grant College
Program at their Fourth Annual Winter Program and Reception on Wednesday,
February 27, 2002 in Columbus, Ohio. The feature presentation will be
"From Ohio Aquatic Organisms to Manatees: A Behind the Scenes Look
at Aquatic Conservation and Research Programs at the Columbus Zoo &
Aquarium" by Mike Brittsan, Curator, and Doug Warmolts, Assistant
Director of Living Collections (and former Stone Lab student), both from
the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. Make your plans now to attend this fun and
informative event! 

In addition, a silent auction will be held beginning at 7 p.m. to benefit
the Friends of Stone Laboratory, a non-profit group that supports Stone
Lab programs and scholarships. Auction items include vintage refurbished
microscopes and other Lake Erie related items. (payment by cash or check
please; credit cards cannot be accepted.)

Come and learn from the experts about the science that goes on behind the
scenes at the zoo and the educational opportunities at Stone Laboratory
on Gibraltar Island, The Ohio State University's Island Campus.

This Event is Free and Open to the Public.
