Inaugural cycling tour circumnavigating the Great Lakes

Participants on the Tour Great Lakes will travel 2,900 miles (4,700 km) 
around the outer perimeter of the five Great Lakes. The expedition will 
take 6 weeks, departing from Alliston, Ontario (near Toronto) on July 7, 
2002. Riders will travel clockwise around the lakes, through eight U.S. 
states and northern Ontario and will return to southern Ontario on Aug. 
17. The average daily distance will be 85 miles (135 km).

The 2002 Great Lakes Economy Conference

The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will hold a conference on economic 
linkages in the Great Lakes region at its Detroit Branch April 4 and 5. 
This conference will assess the extent to which the Canadian and 
American Midwest economies have become integrated with respect to trade, 
investment, business travel, immigration and tourism.
