Title: GLFC Announces Summer Fellowship Opportunities
The Great Lakes Fishery Commission, in partnership with the Cooperative Institute for Limnology and Ecosystems Research (CILER) at the University of Michigan, announce three student fellowship opportunities at the Great Lakes Fishery Commission for the summer of 2002.

Preference will be given to currently enrolled or newly graduated upper-class undergraduates or master's degree students.  The starting dates for the fellowships are between May 1 and June 1, 2002.  Successful applicants will receive a stipend of $5,000 for the three-month fellowship.  The fellow will be expected to provide a written project report at the completion of the work.  University credit for the experience is encouraged and may be arranged either through the University of Michigan or through your home institution.

The Great Lakes Fishery Commission is a binational institution on the Great Lakes established by treaty in 1955 between the United States and Canada.  The commission is responsible for coordinating fisheries research, controlling the invasive sea lamprey, and facilitating cooperative fisheries management among the eight Great Lakes states, the Province of Ontario, and tribes.  For more information about the commission, visit http://www.glfc.org on the internet.  For information on CILER, please visit http://www.ciler.org.

Applications must be received by April 12, 2002.  Funding decisions will be made by April 19, 2002.  Applications must include a resume, transcripts (unofficial copies are acceptable), at least two references, and a cover letter stating interests.

The Commission's office is located in Ann Arbor, near Plymouth Road and U.S. Highway 23.  The fellows will be provided with a work area in the Commission's office.
