Position Vacancy: Manager, Communication and Information
Management Program

The Great Lakes Commission seeks a Program Manager for
Communications and Information Management. The successful
candidate will have:

 At least five years' relevant experience
 An outstanding record of success in the design and management
of communications and information management projects
 Proposal writing, related fundraising and financial management
 Experience in personnel management
 Team building and group facilitation skills
 A thorough knowledge of electronic and conventional
 Knowledge of the use of technology is essential, as is
familiarity with the Great Lakes - St. Lawrence region and
related environmental protection, resource management,
transportation, and sustainable development issues.

The applicant must have at least a bachelor's degree in
journalism, communications, public policy or a related
discipline. Master's preferred. Must also possess training in
computer science and/or demonstrated familiarity with the
Internet and associated public policy applications, including
data and information management.

Familiarity and supervisory experience with report/newsletter
editing, design, production and marketing, press release
preparation and media relations desired. Strong verbal and
written communication skills and an ability to communicate with
diverse audiences, including scientists, elected officials,
managers and the general public is essential.
