SITE OF THE MONTH for May: Gouvernement du Quebec (Government of Quebec)
The portal of the Quebec government was created in 1995 in response to
those who saw early on the great potential of the Internet in delivering
services to Quebecers. There have been four versions of the portal. The
latest, unveiled in March 2002, gives renewed voice to the portal's
missions of disseminating the government's news and related links to
government agencies and bureaus.

If you would like to nominate a site for GLIN Site of the Month, see

Sustainability is about living and working in ways that meet and balance
existing environmental, economic and social needs without compromising
the well-being of future generations. So how are we really doing at
living well for the long term around the world's greatest freshwater
resource? Read Canada's first independent sustainability assessment to
find out.

Cooperative Institute for LIMNOLOGY and ECOSYSTEMS Research
 >> http://www.ciler.org/ <<
One of 11 NOAA Joint Institutes (JI), CILER is unique in that it is the
only JI whose research focuses on the Great Lakes and therefore involves
all universities throughout the Great Lakes basin. CILER researchers
focus on five areas: climate and large-lake dynamics, coastal and
nearshore processes, large-lake ecosystem structure and function, remote
sensing of large-lake and coastal ocean dynamics, and marine
environmental engineering.

SuperiorSURF: The quest to surf Lake Superior
 >> http://www.superior-surf.com/ <<
SuperiorSurf details many individuals' quest to surf the cold waters of
Lake Superior. They support enthusiasts with picture galleries, reports
on surfing conditions, and links to other surfing sites in the Great
Lakes (and beyond) and are the sponsors of the 2002 Cold Water Surf Fest
to celebrate surf culture.
