SITE OF THE MONTH for October: Ohio Department of Natural Resources

ODOR, one of the largest and most diverse agencies in Ohio state 
government, is responsible for the preservation, management and wise 
utilization of the state's natural resources. ODOR owns or manages more 
than 500,000 acres of land, including 74 state parks, 20 state forests, 
123 state nature preserves and more than 85 wildlife areas. The 
department also has jurisdiction over more than 120,000 acres of inland 
waters, as well as Ohio's portion of Lake Erie. The department's Office 
of Coastal Management addresses issues specific to the Lake Erie region.

Visitors can request a copy of "New York State a la carte," a fall menu 
of unique foods and scenic delights. The brochure features fall travel 
suggestions on scenic byways, including the Seawall Trail that parallels 
New York's Great Lakes shoreline and is one of 80 National Scenic Byways 
designated by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
