The St. Lawrence Action Plan was first launched in
1988, but what is the state of the river today? Now in Phase III,
the action plan is responsible for reducing toxic substances,
eliminating chemical pollution, maintaining biodiversity, protecting
human health, and working with the community to restore the St.

Academy trains men and women to serve as Merchant Marine officers
aboard Great Lakes and ocean ships. Unique among other state
maritime academies, the GLMA is designated as a regional maritime
academy and the only one affiliated with a community college.
