A Conference on Teaching Water for Secondary School Teachers, Community
Educators and Interested Youth

Friday and Saturday, February 21 and 22, 2003

at Trent University and Kawartha Centre, Peterborough, Ontario

Highlights of this conference include:

*keynote speaker Elizabeth May, Executive Director of the Sierra Club of
Canada, who will speak on the theme of "Global Water, Local Citizenship."
Elizabeth May is a grassroots environmentalist, writer and activist and
lawyer. FREE EVENT at the Wenjack Theatre, Trent University.

*all day Saturday, interactive workshops will be offered at the beautiful
Kawartha Centre. Topics include:

Exploring Water Issues Through Film

Introduction to Water Quality in the Trent Watershed

The Politics of Water Export

Watercolours as a Medium for Expression and Connection

Youth and the Canoe

Environmental Racism at the Tay River
