GLIN==> RFP released: Regional Beach Monitoring and Reporting System

The Great Lakes Commission is accepting sealed proposals from qualified 
contractors to design, develop and implement a regional beach monitoring 
and reporting system that can facilitate the storage, update, and access 
to real-time beach information collected by state health and 
environmental agencies. The system will serve as the primary tool for 
States to respond to the reporting requirements under the Beaches 
Environmental Assessment and Coastal Health Act (BEACH Act) of 2002.

This project will be implemented for the states of Illinois, Indiana and 
Ohio. The regional reporting system will provide broad Internet-based 
access linked from and to state health and environmental agency websites 
as well as to the Great Lakes Information Network (GLIN: 
great-lakes.net), a regional data portal managed by the Great Lakes 
Commission.

Proposal deadline is Oct. 10, 2003, 5 p.m. EST.
