Natural History Survey
The Illinois Natural History
Survey web site highlights its research, educational and outreach
programs, and biological collections (plants, animals, fungi, and
microbes of Illinois and elsewhere) for scientists, policymakers,
and the public-at-large. Visitors to the site can learn about
ongoing projects and search most of the INHS collections and
holdings. With a staff of more than 200 scientists and technical
support staff, the Survey is recognized as one the nation's premier
natural history research organizations. A division of the Illinois
Department of Natural Resources, INHS is headquartered on the campus
of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
