International Joint Commission www.ijc.org
The IJC prevents and resolves
disputes between the U.S and Canada under the 1909 Boundary Waters
Treaty and serves as an independent advisor to the two governments.
It assists in the protection of the transboundary environment from
coast to coast, including implementation of the Great Lakes Water
Quality Agreement and control projects, and monitoring water quality
issues and transboundary air quality in more than 10 shared
watersheds. The IJC's newly redesigned website features an updated
look and innovative access tools, including a new "virtual" library
