Mink River Estuary - Wisconsin

The Mink River Estuary on Wisconsin's Door Peninsula is one of the few high-quality estuaries remaining on the Great Lakes. As a spawning habitat and source of organic material, productive estuaries are vital, though most have been destroyed to make room for commercial and residential development. As of Jan. 30, 2004, The Nature Conservancy has protected 1,737 acres at Mink River Estuary.

Alfred Bog - Ontario

Alfred Bog. Ontario is home to the most extensive wetlands system in North America, including Alfred Bog -- the province's largest -- covering more than 10,000 acres. Read a chronology of conservation efforts since 1985

Lake Basin Management Initiative

LakeNet.This project -- a cooperative effort of LakeNet, the International Lake Environment Committee (ILEC) and Saint Michael's College -- is documenting lessons learned in lake basin management through a series of case studies, workshops and e-forums. The Great Lakes are among the participating lakes.

Chicago Climate Exchange

CCX represents the first voluntary, legally binding commitment by a cross-section of North American corporations, municipalities and other institutions to establish a market for reducing and trading greenhouse gas emissions.
