GLIN==> White House taps EPA Midwest branch chief Skinner for enforcement position



The Bush administration has named Thomas Skinner, Region 5 Administrator of
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Chicago, as acting assistant
administrator of the agency's enforcement program.

Skinner replaces J.P. Suarez as chief of EPA's Office of Enforcement and
Compliance Assurance. Suarez left the agency in January to become the
general counsel for Sam's Club, a subsidiary of Wal-Mart.

Skinner will continue to serve as Manager of the Great Lakes National
Program Office.
Deputy Regional Administrator Bharat Mathur will serve as Acting Region 5
Administrator.
Norm Niedergang will serve as Acting Deputy Regional Administrator.
