OHIO LAKE ERIE COMMISSION TO HOLD QUARTERLY MEETING
ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 14, 2004

The Ohio Lake Erie Commission (LEC) will hold its quarterly meeting at 10 
a.m. on Wednesday,
April 14, at the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center, Huntington Reservation, 
28728 Wolf Road in Bay Village.

At this meeting, a special presentation will be given by members of the 
Balanced Growth Blue Ribbon Task Force on strategies they have developed to 
balance protection of the Lake Erie watershed while supporting continued 
economic growth. The Task Force recommendations will be considered by the 
Commission for acceptance at this meeting.

Other agenda items include consideration of the latest round of small grant 
applications and an update on the 2004 large grant cycle for research 
projects. Commission members and advisory organizations will report on the 
latest lake-related projects and issues. They will also discuss plans for 
the 2004 "Life On Lake Erie" photo contest, Coastweeks and the Ohio Lake 
Erie Awards.

All meetings of the Ohio Lake Erie Commission are open to the public and 
include a public comment period. Organizations and citizens are urged to 
attend this meeting and provide input on issues of concern.

The Ohio Lake Erie Commission is comprised of the directors of the Ohio 
Environmental Protection Agency and the Ohio departments of natural 
resources, transportation, development, health and agriculture. The 
Commission was created to preserve the lake's natural resources and protect 
the quality of its waters and ecosystem.
