The
City of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will
co-host
a conference on "The Confluence of Water, Society and Ecological
Design" on June 9-10, 2004 at the Illini Center on 200 S. Wacker Drive
in Chicago.
The purpose of the conference is to draft a strategy paper for linking water-conserving design from the site to metropolitan watershed scales, with an emphasis on urbanizing areas of the Great Lakes region. The session topics are: 1. Visionary Perspectives on Metropolitan Water, Environment, and Culture. 2. Linking Green Building and Sustainable Site Design 3. Linking Sustainable Site Design and Green Infrastructure Planning 4. Linking Green Infrastructure Planning and Integrated Watershed Management 5.
