Wetland Restoration Workshop Series, Wisconsin Wetlands Association

Whether you are a land owner or land manager, join us and learn how to restore wetlands on your own property (workshop schedule).

This summer, the Wisconsin Wetlands Association (WWA) is partnering with local conservation organizations around the state of Wisconsin to offer a series of workshops on wetland restoration. WWA invites participation from land owners, land managers, and anyone who has an interest in learning about the need for and process of restoring wetland habitats. These hands-on, field-based workshops are a great way to get your feet wet this summer while learning how you can restore wetlands on your own property.

Workshops will be led by Alice Thompson, co-author of WWA’s Wetland Restoration Handbook for Wisconsin Landowners, with the help of different co-instructors at each workshop. Workshops will begin with a classroom session followed by a bus tour to a series of wetland sites. Participants will learn:

· The basics of wetland ecology.

· What to look for in a potential restoration site.

· How to use different restoration techniques.

· The basics of regulations and permitting.

· How to fit it all into a complete restoration plan.

Workshop Schedule

Registration for each workshop is limited to 30 people. Please register two weeks in advance. To register, print, complete, and mail the registration form (PDF version, Word version) along with your registration check made payable to Wisconsin Wetlands Association (222 S.
