Seeking
scientists/Policy Analyists interested in pursuing up to a one year
Sabbatical/ Secondment/ IPA/Contract with the IJC's Great Lakes
Regional Office. The 1978 Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement reaffirms a
commitment, first expressed by the two countries in 1972, to restore and
protect the water quality of these lakes. The International Joint Commission
plays an important role in evaluating efforts by both countries to restore
the Great Lakes basin ecosystem and recommending actions to the
two federal governments to implement the goals and objectives of the
agreement. The Great Lakes Regional Office assists the Commission and its Great
Lakes advisory boards in fulfilling their responsibilities under the
agreement. This office provides scientific, technical and administrative
support, as well as a public information and consultation service.

Qualifications:

M.Sc.
or Ph.D. in environmental science, social science, environmental economics,
or related fields of environmental studies.
