Local
naturalists and ecologists including Kate Redmond, Noel Cutright, Jim
Reinartz, Heather Patti, Joanne Kline, and Alice Thompson will be leading guided walks of
Cedarburg Bog and other natural areas at the UWM Field Station. Here's a
brief sampling:
* At 10:00 AM, take a walk on the
boardwalk with local naturalist Kate Redmond to learn about the natural
history of Cedarburg Bog, including information on the insects and edible
and medicinal plants found there.
* At 10:15 AM and 3:45 PM, local wetland
expert Alice Thompson will lead tours for kids and families. Explore
nearby nature using dip nets to capture wetland creatures and microscopes
to view them in the Field Station's lab!
* At 10:30 AM, take a walk with local
birding expert Noel Cutright through an area he says supports the longest
species list of any non-coastal birding spot in Wisconsin.
