WKAR's Emmy Award winning investigative series "Michigan at Risk" presents:

"The Emerald Ash Borer: Path of Death"

Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 8:00 PM on public television

The program examines the path of the borer from Asia to Michigan, and why
it is likely to kill all the ash trees in southeast Michigan. But can it be
stopped here? Will the Emerald ash borer be our next national tree
pandemic, as was Dutch Elm disease when it spread across the country in the
1960's?

In interviews with experts and stakeholders, the program looks at the
remedies and efforts to stop the borer's spread, and the concerns of some
experts about the impact on the earth of the volume of insecticides now
being used.

Those interviewed for the documentary include:

Ken Marchant, forestry specialist with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency
Dan Herms, associate professor, Department of Entomology, Ohio State
University
Dr. John Witter, professor of Entomology, University of Michigan
Bill Schneider, owner Wildtype Native Plant Nursery
Barry Mager, President of Industrial Packaging Corporation
Craig Kellogg, U.S. Department of Agriculture/Animal, Plant, Health
Inspection Service
