Announcement!
Great Lakes Nonpoint Source Pollution from Land Use
Workshop: A Post-PLUARG Review
November 8-9, Ann Arbor,
Michigan
http://www.glc.org/postpluarg/
Registration
Deadline: November 1!
This two-day workshop is designed for public agency officials, researchers, natural resource managers, and non-governmental representatives involved with
nonpoint source and land use issues to assess the current state of
nonpoint source pollution control in the Great Lakes region. This workshop
will outline important steps for advancing a regional agenda for land use
management and nonpoint source pollution control and explore how such an agenda
can support broader Great Lakes restoration activities.
Leading
experts will review progress in addressing nonpoint source pollution since
the completion of the Pollution from
Land Use Activities Reference Group (PLUARG) reports in the 1970s. Workshop
participants will identify needs and emerging issues and develop recommendations
for future land use management and non-point source pollution control through a
series of discussion and breakout sessions.
The deadline
for registration is November 1, 2004. Registration information is
available online at: http://www.glc.org/postpluarg. Space is limited, so please register soon to ensure your opportunity to
participate. There is a $60 (U.S.) or $ 75 (CDN) registration fee for the
workshop, which includes workshop materials,
meals, breaks, and a reception. Information about the workshop is available online at http://www.glc.org/postpluarg.
This workshop is
being funded in part by U.S. EPA GLNPO with additional support provided by
USDA-NRCS and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Staff support is being
provided by the Great Lakes Commission. Thank you for your interest
and we look forward to seeing you at the workshop!
