The Michigan Clean Water Corps is now accepting applications for volunteer stream monitoring grants.
Volunteer Stream Monitoring Grant
Program
Grants
are available to local units of government and nonprofit entities for water
quality monitoring in Michigan's
wadable streams and rivers.
The
newly-formed Clean Water Corps
program will provide training to grantees to ensure quality data
collection. Data produced under the grant program will be used by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality
(DEQ) as a screening tool to
identify sites requiring more detailed assessments and as supplemental data for
DEQ water resources management programs.
The Volunteer Stream Monitoring Grant Application Package (GAP) and application instructions are available online at http://www.glc.org/micorps/gap05. All applications must also be submitted online via this web site. The GAP contains detailed instructions for developing a proposal, proposal evaluation criteria, and items to include with your application.
