For immediate release
Toronto, ON - EECO 2005, the only conference in the Great Lakes Economic
Region designed to enable cross-border economic and environmental dialogue,
will bring together the major players of the Great Lakes Economy May 26-27,
2005 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, in Toronto, Canada.
EECO 2005 is a biennial "platform" where business leaders, elected
officials, public policy makers and NGOs meet to examine priority business
and environment risks/opportunities. A unique forum, EECO is designed to
promote dialogue, share ideas and innovation, build new relationships,
profile best practices, debate cross-border environmental and clean energy
policy, and support trade throughout the Great Lakes states and provinces.
This area is the economic generator of North America. Comprised of Ontario,
Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania and
Minnesota, The Great Lakes Economic Region produces a whopping 12% of the
world's annual GDP and over $150 billion in cross-border trade annually.
EECO's dynamic and strategically-focused program, environmental-solution
oriented exhibition and highly interactive forums deliver outstanding value
to delegates, sponsors and partners.
The conference will also feature the EECO 2005 Exposition, providing
progressive corporations with a unique opportunity to demonstrate their
achievements in creating successful synergies between economic growth and
environmental improvement.
The final day of the conference will be highlighted by the 4th Annual GLOBE
Awards for Environmental Excellence, sponsored by the GLOBE Foundation and
The Globe and Mail, to be presented at the EECO Gala Luncheon, May 27, 2005.
These prestigious awards are presented to the extraordinary Canadian
companies and industry groups who have demonstrated leadership in
sustainable business strategies within Canada and around the world.
