GLIN==> New opportunities at the Great Lakes Commission



The Great Lakes Commission staff is expanding to address current and
emerging priorities of its state and provincial members. We are pleased to
announce openings for the following new positions, and invite you to

WATERSHED MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
The position involves project management and support for watershed
management, volunteer monitoring, and other collaborative resource
management activities in the Great Lakes region. The ideal candidate will
have outstanding communications skills; research and technical expertise;
experience with collaborative resource management, policy development and
stakeholder coordination; and a solid background in water quality programs

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS / DATABASE SPECIALIST
The Great Lakes Commission is seeking candidates for the position of
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) / Database Specialist. The position
involves developing and maintaining GIS databases and Internet mapping
applications associated with the Great Lakes Information Network (GLIN,
www.great-lakes.net) web portal, and providing technical assistance to a
variety of Commission projects. The individual will work collaboratively
with Commission staff, members, and partner agencies and organizations. View

PORTS AND HARBORS SPECIALIST
The Great Lakes Commission is seeking candidates for the position of Ports
and Harbors Specialist within a newly established Great Lakes Service
Center. The position, made possible through a partnership with the National
Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration's Coastal Services Center,
involves designing and conducting programs, projects and related activities
that support sustainable development, environmental quality and best
management practices in the commercial and recreational ports and harbors of
the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence River system. The ideal candidate will have
outstanding communications skills, research and technical expertise, and a
solid background in Great Lakes port operation and/or marine transportation.

COASTAL MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
The Great Lakes Commission is seeking candidates for the position of Coastal
Management Specialist within a newly established Great Lakes Service Center.
The position, made possible through a partnership with the National
Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration's Coastal Services Center,
involves designing and conducting programs, projects and related activities
that support sustainable development, environmental quality and best
management practices. The ideal candidate will have outstanding
communications skills, research and technical expertise, and a solid
