GLIN==> Whooping crane reintroduction to be featured on "60 Minutes Wednesday"

Tune in tonight.... The Whooping Crane Eastern Partnership, or "WCEP,"
will be featured on "60 Minutes Wednesday" this evening. The show airs on
CBS at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central.

WCEP is an international coalition of public and private groups that is
coordinating the effort to reintroduce the endangered whooping crane in
eastern North America by training crane chicks to follow ultralight
aircraft. The Service is a founding partner of WCEP, and the training
grounds and summer home for reintroduced whooping cranes is Wisconsin's
Necedah National Wildlife Refuge. As a result of WCEP's ongoing efforts,
there are now 46 whooping cranes in the wild in eastern North
America--where just 4 years ago there were none.
