Viewers here and six other states will get a glimpse of Wisconsin's unique coastline resources thanks to an initiative funded by the Wisconsin Department of Administration's Coastal Management Program (WCMP). The "Discover Wisconsin" television series will focus on several of the state's 400-plus natural areas in a program that will air this weekend on stations throughout the Great Lakes region.
A variety of natural areas will be featured this weekend (June 25 and 26) in a program entitled "State Natural Areas -- Wisconsin's Coastline." It will air Saturday at 5:00 p.m. on WGBA TV-26 Green Bay, at 6:30 p.m. on WKOW TV-27 Madison, and at 6:30 p.m. on WAOW Channel-9 Wausau. The episode will also air in Milwaukee Sunday at 10:00 a.m. on WITI TV-6 and at 5:30 p.m. on WDIO TV-10 Superior/Duluth. A WCMP grant to the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin funded the program.
Highlights of the episode include:

In addition to the television show, the package includes several other promotional opportunities. Through the episode, viewers are encouraged to log onto www.discoverwisconsin.com to learn more about Wisconsin's state natural areas with web links to various sites. The state natural areas will also be featured in five segments of Discover Wisconsin Radio, which airs on 55 affiliate stations across Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota. This week, the state natural areas will be highlighted during Discover Wisconsin segments on Fox-6 Wake-Up News in Milwaukee and WGBA News in Green Bay.
