NOAA is partnering with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation,
the Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service,
and
U.S.D.A. Forest Service to fund the Great Lakes Watershed Restoration
Program.
This is a new program designed to demonstrate real, on-the-ground
commitment
to improving water quality and ecological health of the Great Lakes
Basin.
Funding will focus on habitat restoration, water quality improvements,
watershed
planning and management, applied research, and conservation education.
A total of more than $700,000 will be available for grants ranging from
$35,000 to $100,000. Proposals due on November 15, 2005.
