GLIN==> Public review of Draft Guidance for Delisting Michigan's Great Lakes Areas of Concern

A draft Guidance for Delisting Michigan's Great Lakes Areas of Concern is available for public review on the web site of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality. It can be found at: http://www.michigan.gov/deq/0,1607,7-135-3313_3677_15430---,00.html (or type in: www.michigan.gov/deqwater, then click "Great Lakes," then "Areas of Concern"). The document integrates Michigan's criteria for restoration of beneficial use impairments with the process for delisting Michigan's Areas of Concern. The document has been in development by the MDEQ, with close support from the Statewide Public Advisory Council for Michigan's Areas of Concern, for the past year. The MDEQ is soliciting broad public input on the draft for the next month. Following the public review period, the MDEQ plans to revise and finalize the document by the end of the year. Roll-out of the document and implementation is planned for 2006. You can play an important role in strengthening Michigan's Areas of Concern program by providing specific suggestions for improvement. Please provide all suggestions by 5:00 PM on November 28, 2005 to:
