wetland community for the 11th Annual Wetland Science Forum, a 2-day
conference convening wetland researchers, consultants, agency staff, students,
conservationists and other wetland enthusiasts from around Wisconsin and the

Address: Using Remote Sensing and GIS to
Proactively Invigorate Wetlands Regulation Enforcement and Compliance Charles Costello, Section Chief of the Wetlands
Mapping Program of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection,
will give an overview of the MA Wetland
Change Detection Project, which uses aerial image analysis to detect
illegal wetland fills and enforce wetland protection regulations. Charles
will discuss how this technology can be adapted for wetland enforcement efforts

which follows our conference on Saturday, February 4. This conference of the Invasive Plants Association of
Wisconsin will feature practical information for wetland managers who are
combatting invasive plants. In addition to species-specific presentations
emphasizing identification and control, IPAW conference participants may also
attend an herbicide training workshop, learn about Cooperative Weed Management
