The Muskegon River Watershed Assembly (MRWA), a nonprofit organization with
offices in Big Rapids, MI, seeks independent contractor(s) for several
projects described below. If interested, email resume/qualifications to

Contractor Responsibilities
Muskegon River Watershed Education Project (Newaygo County)
· Project Managerial Oversight including, but not limited to:
o Sets up and attends meetings between partners, subcontractors and
other involved organizations
o Gives presentations at project meetings and attends MRWA meetings to
present projects’ status and progress
o Assists project partners in contacting municipalities
o Assists project partners in discussing/reviewing existing master
plans and ordinances with subcontractors/municipalities
o Assists project partners in providing final language and information
to participating municipalities regarding the review and adoption process
concerning master plans and ordinances
o Assists in the development and submission of quarterly status reports
and final report
Muskegon River Implementation Project (Montcalm County)
Project Managerial Oversight including, but not limited to:
o Tamarack Creek Best Management Practices
§ Coordinates meetings with project partners and landowners
§ Assists project partners in the selection of contractors in
establishing easements and vegetative filter strips
§ Assists project partners in ordering appraisals, title searches and
opinions, surveys and recording deeds
§ Assists project partners in the documentation of easement areas
§ Assists in the development and submission of quarterly status reports
and final report
Bigelow Creek 2 Project (Newaygo County)
Project Managerial Oversight including, but not limited to:
o Provides oversight to subcontractors concerning the construction of
in-stream habitat installation and maintenance
o Takes “after shots” of project areas
o Assists in the development and submission of reports as needed
Muskegon Lake Wildlife Habitat and Education Project (Muskegon County)
· Project Managerial Oversight including, but not limited to:
o Attends meetings and assists Muskegon Lake partners
o Assists project partners in the development of wildlife targets
o Assists project partners in community involvement and outreach, i.e.
contacting landowners and other interested persons, setting up meetings,
etc.
o Assists project partners in the production of a habitat guide and/or
set of fact sheets
o Assists in the development and submission of reports as needed
