For the seventh successful summer, the University of Toledo will host a
nine-week Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program this summer
at the Lake Erie Research and Education Center on the southwest shore of
Lake Erie. Applications and details are found at www.reusummer.utoledo.edu.
Students will participate in interdisciplinary research projects that will
enhance their filed and research skills and help in the pursuit of a career
in environmental sciences. Students will work individually or as a team
member to address environmental studies affecting Lake Erie and its
watersheds. We also include many extra activities such as field trips to
local areas of interest. Students in their Sophomore or Junior years from a
wide range of interests are invited to apply. Geology, Ecology, Biology,
Environmental Sciences, Remote Sensing, and Environmental Engineering
students should consider applying. Only U.S. citizens are eligible and
minorities are encouraged.
Students will receive: $4,000 stipend, lodging, and travel to and from
Toledo.
To apply: Go to www.reusummer.utoledo.edu, enter all of the information
requested, including a short narrative of your career goals and research
interests. Candidates are selected based on eligibility and compatibility
of your interests to that of an available faculty member in the program.
