Thursday, May 25, 2006
3:00 p.m.
5:20 p.m.
Anthony P. Toldo Health Education Centre, Room 204

University of Windsor, Windsor, Ontario
An informal survey of NGO, environmental, and advocacy groups indicated overwhelming interest in a facilitated discussion on Climate Change as part of the 49th Annual IAGLR conference.

Jeremy Kerr, an ecologist from the University of Ottawa, will open the forum with an informative discussion of climate change impacts on biodiversity. ( http://www.iaglr.org/conference/2006/kerr.php) Together with Paul Gray, the coordinator of the Ontario MNR Climate Change Program, these two renowned scientists will facilitate an open discussion with forum guests

Forum participants also will have the opportunity to take advantage of other events throughout the day. Listen to Dr. Gray's plenary address  (http://www.iaglr.org/conference/2006/climatechange.php ), sit in on a scientific session on climate change as part of the conference program  (http://www.iaglr.org/conference/2006/abstracts/pub_sesspres_view.php?session_id=49), mingle with scientists and policy makers at the conference barbecue, and attend a private showing of The Day After Tomorrow, a Hollywood interpretation of climate change impacts on global society. See the schedule below for times.

The entire forum and various events will be provided at no cost to participants, provided they pre-register. To register, go to http://www.iaglr.org/conference/2006/forum_reg.pdf .  A brief summary of the forum proceedings and follow-up questionnaire will be sent to participants to assess the value of the forum for future conferences.
