The Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Water
Resources Regional Body would like to announce that its first meeting will be
held on Tuesday, June 6, 2006 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. CDT. The
meeting will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel Chicago Downtown Lakefront, 511 N. Columbus Drive.
The meeting will be free and open to the public and will include an opportunity

The Regional Body was established by the
Great Lakes Governors and Premiers when they signed the Great
Lakes—St. Lawrence River Basin Sustainable Water Resources
Agreement on December 13, 2005. The Agreement details how the States and
Provinces will work together to manage and protect the Great
Lakes—St. Lawrence River Basin and provides a framework for
each State and Province to enact laws protecting the Basin. Among its
other duties, the purpose of the Regional Body is to perform any functions necessary
to implement the Agreement. Further information on the Agreement and the
