Great Lakes United

GLIN Site of the Month Great Lakes United was founded in 1982 as the first and only international coalition to protect and restore the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River. Since its inception, GLU has worked across political boundaries, maintained a full commitment to grassroots activism, provided an essential regional coordinating and organizing function, as well as advocated for strong protections for our unique and invaluable freshwater resource. GLU derives its integrity and strength from the diversity of its members, including environmental, conservation, hunting, angling, academic, tribal, religious and labor organizations from the United States, Canada and indigenous territories.

Ohio Nowcasting Beach Advisories

Work is under way to establish Nowcasting beach advisories at five Lake Erie beaches within the next few years. A Nowcasting system for Huntington Reservation in Lorain County is currently available.

Environment Michigan

Environment Michigan is a statewide, citizen-based environmental advocacy organization set up to protect Michigan's air, water and open spaces.

Great Lakes Modeling Association

The Great Lakes Modeling Association is dedicated to preserving Great Lakes maritime history through the art of modeling. Visit this site to view products for modelers, along with building tips and techniques and photos of models created by members.

S/V Denis Sullivan Deck Tours and Public Sails

The S/V Denis Sullivan, based in Milwaukee, Wis., is a re-creation of an 1880s-era three-masted schooner. This 137-foot floating classroom offers a variety of public sailing opportunities. Also, excitement is building on Milwaukee's lakefront as construction nears completion on Discovery World, a gathering place with public grounds, restaurants and interactive exhibits and aquariums.
