Ohio Lake Management Society seeks a Fundraising Coordinator
The Ohio Lake Management Society (OLMS)
(www.olms.org) seeks the assistance of
a development/ fundraising professional to work with the OLMS Board of
Directors over the next 6-months to raise unrestricted operating funds,
to increase the profile of the organization, and to help secure the
overall financial position of this statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Since 1989, OLMS has been the primary organization in Ohio charged with
coordinating resources and applying science and education for the
management and protection of Ohio's 400+ lakes and ponds.
The Fundraising Coordinator will be able to demonstrate previous
experience and success in fundraising for nonprofit organizations.
Compensation will be based on an agreed upon hourly rate and commensurate
with the successful candidate's qualifications. A maximum of $10,000 has
been budgeted for compensation.
Travel and supplies will be reimbursed. Contractual commitments and work
schedule will be as agreed upon in the Agreement entered into between the
Fundraising Coordinator and the OLMS Board. The Board will consider
future hiring of a permanent development/fundraising coordinator or
executive director based upon its experience with the successful
candidate.
Primary tasks will include:
- Review OLMS material and current fundraising plan
- Develop OLMS case statement for use in fundraising
- Develop marketing pieces (e.g. brochures) as needed
- Build a database of private and government funding sources
- Coordinate a membership drive
- Organize meetings and events to forward fundraising goals
- Apply for foundation, corporate and agency grants at the approval of
the OLMS Board.
Our schedule for filling this position is as follows:
- Deadline for responses from interested candidates is Nov. 28, 2006
- Candidates interviewed in person Dec. 4-6, 2006
- Agreement signed by Dec. 13, 2006
- Work commences Dec 18, 2006
