The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Rural Sociology invites
applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position
(12-month appointment) to begin fall 2007. We are interested in
candidates who combine expertise in applied demography with interests in
communities, natural resources, land use or the environment. In addition
to research, teaching and service, the position will involve affiliation
with University of Wisconsin Cooperative Extension, including
responsibilities such as professional service to Extension staff,
community outreach, public policy related work and applied research. It
is anticipated that the person in this position will work closely with
the academic staff in the Environmental Resources Center
http://www.uwex.edu/erc/) and the
Applied Population Laboratory
(http://www.apl.wisc.edu/) to
deliver services and products in this area. The normal teaching load is
one course per year. Applications, including a curriculum vitae,
statement of research and teaching interests, and three letters of
recommendation, should be sent to the Search Committee, Department of
Rural Sociology, 350 Agricultural Hall, 1450 Linden Drive, University of
Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin, 53706. Applications will be reviewed
