Lake Superior Pathfinders 2007
An Environmental Leadership and Social Justice Program

Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute at Northland College in Ashland,
Wisconsin in partnership with UW-Extension

Live and learn on Lake Superior, the world's largest freshwater lake!
Build your leadership skills on our low and high ropes courses and
climbing walls. Immerse yourself in the Lake Superior environment.
Explore estuaries, kayak to sea caves, and investigate the lake's
critical issues from social, environmental, and economic perspectives.
Interact with Chippewa tribal elders and educators as they share their
culture. Join your peers to learn with guest speakers, community
leaders, and Northland College's Sigurd Olson Environmental Institute
and University of Wisconsin-Extension educators, faculty, and field
counselors. Develop knowledge to help you take action on environmental
issues. Lodge at Northland College's Environmental Living and Learning
Center dormitory, located in Ashland, Wis.; some nights are spent
camping on secluded Lake Superior beaches.

The Navigator program is for students who have already completed a
Pathfinders session, a similar program, or who have exceptional
leadership experience. This year, 20 selected students will participate
in this advanced, 6-day program, based on service learning.

 Pathfinders Session I: July 6-14 (8 days)
