This week in the Great Lakes Town Hall
– Environmental Commissioner of Ontario,
Gord Miller – Join the discussion online!
This
week, the Town Hall is pleased to welcome Environmental Commissioner of
Ontario, Gord Miller. Commissioner Miller was appointed in 2000 to
oversee the implementation of the Environmental Bill of Rights. He recently partnered with Pollution Probe to host a series of public events
on the future of the Great Lakes in Kingston, Windsor, Hamilton, Thunder Bay, and Toronto,
Canada. About
500 Great Lakes stakeholders and citizens in Ontario participated in these roundtables
and public forums. Don't miss your chance to read and respond to Commissioner Miller's
Great Lakes perspectives every day this week - only in the Great
Lakes Town Hall!
In
addition to guest speakers, the Great Lakes
Town Hall focuses on a new featured Great Lakes issue each week, provided by co-moderators
Jeffrey Potter, Dave Dempsey and Gary Wilson. This week, Gary pits Lake
Michigan vs. the Pacific Ocean in light of the recent competition to
host the 2012 Summer Olympics. Don't miss this great opportunity to read and
comment on our featured issue - Lake
Michigan vs. the Pacific Ocean - and the thoughts of Environmental
Commissioner of Ontario, Gord Miller, in the Great
Lakes Town Hall.
