This week in the Great Lakes
Town Hall – Debra Shore, Commissioner of the Chicago Water Reclamation
District – Join the discussion online!
This week, the Town
Hall is pleased to welcome Debra
Shore, founding editor of
Chicago Wilderness Magazine and
the first "green" commissioner to be elected to the Chicago Water
Reclamation District in over 20 years. Debra reflects on our opportunity to
"transition from viewing stormwater as a problem to viewing rainwater as a
liquid asset to be captured, treasured, saved and not squandered." Don't
miss your chance to read and respond to Debra's essays every day this week -
only in the Great Lakes Town Hall!
In addition to guest
speakers, the Great Lakes Town Hall focuses on a new featured Great
Lakes issue each week, provided by co-moderators Jeffrey Potter,
Dave Dempsey and Gary Wilson. This week, Dave heralds the 100th anniversary of
Rachel Carson's birth and the role the Great Lakes
have played in the development of our environmental consciousness.
Don't miss this
great opportunity to read and comment on our featured issue - Rachel Carson and the Great Lakes - and
the thoughts of our guest speaker, Debra
Shore, in the Great Lakes Town Hall.
