Position Title: Water Program Associate Status: Full time employee Date posted: May 25, 2007 Applications due: June 15, 2007 Location: The Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) is seeking a key staff member to conduct policy and outreach activities as part of our Clean Water Program. The OEC is a statewide environmental advocacy group with a full-time staff of 14 and a 20-member Board of Directors dedicated to building a better place for Ohioans to live, work, and play. The OEC staff advocates for a cleaner, greener Ohio by interacting with the state legislature and executive agencies, local watershed groups, concerned citizens, other environmental and conservation groups, local and county governments, and non-traditional allies. Position description: The Water Program Associate is responsible for developing and executing statewide advocacy efforts on critical issues pertaining to Qualifications: The Water Program Associate must have strong leadership qualities and experience in the public interest sector, or equivalent experience, with demonstrated skills in advocacy, outreach, and policy development. The Associate should have substantial experience in a demanding work environment, and good communication and team-building skills. The Associate must possess the willingness and ability to travel and occasionally work evening and weekend hours, strong writing and speaking skills, proficiency in word processing and use of the Internet, energy and self-motivation. The minimum qualifications shall include graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelors Degree. An advanced degree, extensive work experience, and/or professional accreditation are preferred. Knowledge of Salary and benefits: The salary range is commensurate with experience, with a range of $28,000 to $42,000.
