Please join us on the shores of Lake Michigan for the third annual meeting
of the Great Lakes Observing System (GLOS), the Great Lakes node of the
national Integrated Ocean Observing System. GLOS is a non-profit
organization dedicated to providing wide community access to real-time and
historic data on the physical, chemical and biological conditions of the
Great Lakes, including interconnecting waterways and the St. Lawrence River.

GLOS Data Integration Activities will be highlighted, including a web-based
map explorer to display real time lake conditions and a HarborView
application prototype, which provides an online viewing frame for conditions
in/around Great Lakes harbors. HarborView will be of special interest to
recreational boaters, fishermen/women and beachgoers, among others.
Discussions will also focus on GLOS System/Modeling activities, including
the Huron-Erie Corridor modeling project, and plans for a Great Lakes
Modeling & Assessment Center and an Open Water Observing Conference. A
reception at The Discovery Center at Pier Wisconsin will be held on the
evening of April 16.
