A weather-related late start and the ongoing dredging crisis
combined to trim the Lakes limestone trade in April by about 3 percent compared
to a year ago. However, compared to the month’s 5-year average,
this April was off by 11 percent. For the year, the trade is 20 percent
off its 5-year average, and that decrease also reflects the sluggish
