GLIN==> August U.S.-Flag Cargo Movement on Great Lakes

The U.S.-Flag Great Lakes fleet moved 12 million tons of cargo on the Great Lakes in August.  Rising water levels allowed for a couple cargos to be within striking distance of full loads and so give a hint of the industry’s potential, but the dredging crisis is far from over.  And if water levels begin to drop as they normally do in the fall, those 68,000-ton iron ore cargos will be a memory.  See attached for more details.
