CHICAGO -- Amy Freeze, chief meteorologist at Fox News-Chicago, headlines the Urban Habitat Symposium on Jan. 22-23 at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago.

Registration is still open for the 1 1/2-day symposium, which brings together experts from across the United States and Canada to explore near-shore habitat restoration projects.

Freeze is one of just a few women in the world with a Certified Broadcast Meteorology accreditation from the American Meteorological Society. A two-time Emmy winner for Best Weathercaster and Outstanding Host, she’s also reported on the Olympic Games in Salt Lake and Atlanta.

Joel Scheraga, national program director for the Global Research Program and the Research Mercury Program in the U.S. EPA’s Office of Research and Development, is scheduled to speak on the significant risks climate change poses to near-shore areas in the Great Lakes region.

Conference registration is $75. Complete your hotel registration with the Palmer House Hilton by this Friday, Jan. 9 to guarantee a room rate of $149 per night.
