GLIN==> Water Festival Presenters Needed at lake St. Clair Water Festival

January 23, 2009

Dear Water Resource Professional,

We are currently looking for presenters for the 2nd annual Lake St. Clair Water Festival that will

be held at Macomb Community College’s Center Campus on Wednesday, May 20, 2009. The

water festival is a free program designed to educate fourth and fifth grade students, along with

their teachers and parent chaperones, about the important role water plays in their daily lives

and to identify the impact they have on water quality. Topics to be explored include, but are not

limited to, water quality, environmental impacts/land usage, stewardship and natural resources.

Each class is invited to attend one half-day session: 9:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. to 2:00

p.m. Each session lasts 20 minutes. The Water Festival will target over 1,000 fourth and fifth

grade students within the Lake St. Clair Watershed. We hope that you can assist with this

exciting opportunity to provide an educational and enjoyable learning experience for our local

fourth and fifth grade students.

All presenters will receive a free Water Festival tee shirt and a box lunch for volunteering their

time and expertise at the Lake St. Clair Water Festival. For your convenience, registration is

available on-line at http://waterfestival.weebly.com/. Depending on your availability, please

register to present for a morning, afternoon or all-day session. We ask that presenters arrive

one-hour early to enjoy a complimentary breakfast or lunch and to set up for your presentations.

Please feel free to forward this email to any of your colleagues that may also be interested in

presenting at the Water Festival.

If you have any questions regarding this event, please contact Barb Matthews at 586.466.4016.

We look forward to working with you and your colleagues at the 2009 Lake St. Clair Water

Festival.

Sincerely Yours,

Lake St. Clair Water Festival
