BACKGROUND:

As President Obama and Prime Minister Harper prepare to meet in Ottawa next Thursday, groups from across the Great Lakes region are urging both leaders to commit to revitalizing the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement, an historic pact to ensure clean drinking water, and a healthy Great Lakes ecosystem.

 

On this call, participants will discuss how investments in a clean Great Lakes can help a hurting economy, the importance of binational cooperation in Great Lakes protection, and how previous renewals of the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement have offered important advancements in the global prevention of water pollution.
