RE: State Energy Efficiency Initiatives

Hello everybody. I work for a private non-profit organization in
Washington, DC that designs and implements study tours for international
environmental officials and specialists of every ilk from almost every
country in the world. The projects are sponsored by the Department of State
under the Fulbright-Hayes Act. (Please check out our website below)

I have upcoming three proposals that I have to write: one for a group from
Latin America, one from Africa and one called a Multi-regional, meaning that
the participants come from everywhere. These proposals are competitive and,
of course I want to win. The topic for all three is Sustainable Development
and Environmental Protection.

I have done many, many projects in this field and am pretty up to speed.
But I am hoping that some of you can give me YOUR thoughts on the most
significant, leading edge and important issues and initiatives here in the
States that I can propose for these groups. If any of you have any regional
specialization vis-a-vis the rest of the world in terms of what would be
most relevant for Africans, Latin Americans, etc. that would be most
helpful.

Energy and urban land management are two topic I intend to cover, and I have
a good idea of what U.S. cities to use for these topics, but I am interested
in your ideas. Many many thanks, Joanne Clark
