The Resource Conservation Challenge is the major topic for
this year's RCRA National Meeting in Washington DC August
12-15, 2003. In September 2002, EPA announced the Resource
Conservation Challenge (RCC), a major national effort to
find flexible, yet more protective ways to conserve our
valuable resources through waste reduction and energy
recovery activities that will improve public health and the
environment. Thus, the theme of this year's conference is
"Putting Resource Conservation into RCRA". For more
information on the Resource Conservation Challenge, see
http://www.epa.gov/epaoswer/osw/conserve/index.htm
The conference will include a comprehensive and diverse
array of over 50 sessions held over 3 ½ days. Don't miss
the opportunity to interact with the experts and be part of
discussions on such pertinent topics as: Fuel Cells, RCRA
Policies, Waste Minimization, Environmental Justice,
Brownfields, Municipal Solid Waste, Product Stewardship,
and more!
Tentative Keynote Speakers include:
U.S. EPA Administrator
Barry Breen, Deputy Assistant Administrator, Office of
Solid Waste and Emergency Response, U.S. EPA
William McDonough, Principal and Founder, William McDonough
& Partners, Architecture and Community Design
