Just a half a day of your time attending this Roadshow could save you money
and the risk of losing substantial business because you were not aware of
the new legislation coming into force on Waste from Electrical & Electronic
Equipment (WEEE)and Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS).
These will impact all electrical and electronic manufacturers, systems
integrators, assemblers and importers. Six FREE events will be organised
throughout the South-East from January to April 2004 with sponsorship from
South-East Development Agency and support from the Environment Agency,
Engineering Employers Federation, Federation of Small Businesses, The
Institution of Electrical Engineers, CEAC, Hampshire County Council, Surrey
Economic Partnership, Sussex Enterprise, KSBP, OxSBP and Heyford Park. For

Automotive Environmental Workshop (4th December)
This year the national governments within the European Union will be
bringing the End of Life Vehicles Directive (see 'legislation' on seeba
website) on to their statue books. It is having a major impact on how
companies operate in the automotive sector. In addition the global drive to
reduce CO2 is having a considerable influence on both engine design and the
use of alternative fuels. The workshop covers both of these aspects,
looking at the impact on design, materials, waste management, engine
design, and alternative fuels. We are lucky to have some of leading expert
from these fields to present at the workshop.

Eco-design and its Integration in Company Management Systems (5th December)
Existing, new, and proposed environmental product legislation (see
'legislation' on seeba website). are fundamentally impacting the way
companies design and launch new products. Many multi-nationals are already
working with their supply chain so that they can meet the new requirements.
This workshop is an in-depth look at what all companies should be doing
now, if they wish to remain competitive.
The day will include presentations from leading manufacturing companies,
and organisations and includes presentations on legislation, eco-design
case studies and techniques, the move to integrate environmental and
quality systems; impact of WEEE on the mobile phone industry, and new
eco-design tools.
